INCREASING YOUR MENTAL FOCUS

-achievementThere have been before time certain factors that are responsible for bad mental capability, these factors ranges from sleep, food, lack of exercise and stress. They work very hard in decreasing our mental focus. Have you ever noticed a difficulty in trying to focus on your work or whatever task you are handling? All these contributing factors makes us feel outdated over time in terms of ages and achievements, but i believe we are not.
Aside from the usual advice of trying to improve your diet and exercise routines and getting enough rest. there are still some specific things you will do to help increase your mental focus.

Implement the Power of Studying
Using your brain for more than your usual activities will stimulate your rate of thinking. Try playing games like paper games, lido, puzzles etc. As this help in improving the working capability of your brain. There are online games, crossword puzzles in books and newspapers. These activities can also be great ways to relax and relieve stress. It has been a simple truth with prove that our brain works more effectively when we put it to work.

Turn your Imagination to a flashlight
A technique you can use in situations where you are trying to focus narrowly on something is to imagine that you are looking through a flashlight. What you see at the end of the light is only what you are focusing on. Everything outside your circle of light is black. Use this technique to block out all external stimuli while you are trying to narrowly focus on something.

Take that Break
You can’t resist it as ”All work with no rest makes jark a doll boy’‘ Give yourself the appropriate rest when necessary. Take a long break when you can, but when you can’t, at least take short breaks. It can be walking or sitting down in a corner visualizing activities that impress you for the moment rather than just a little exercise. Walking can be a form of meditation. Walk alone if you can and it will help clear your mind.

Form a List
When there are too many other thoughts distracting you from your current task, write them down, as it is advisable to think on paper than to go off headed. Keep a small notebook with you all the time to keep track of things you need to do and as well jot down any ideas that came up on how to go with your future task. When these future tasks are contained in one place, you are free to use your brain to focus on the task at hand without the fear of forgetting these other things.

Go for a Better Diet
Foods are good factors to consider when it comes to building your mental capability. Eat good foods as the doctor will always say. Even making small changes will help. Try to eat fewer carbohydrates during the day, and more protein. Coffee, in small doses, can really help your focus. Just don’t overdo it.

Getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly and managing stress are still the best places to start. Yet they can’t be overlooked.
